Flat hair: The most common volume mistakes
It can sometimes really depress you: You invest a lot of time in hair care and styling but then your hair is still flat. The problem is sometimes a simple volume error.
A straight hair cut
Is your hair cut to one length? It can result in your hair having no movement. The upper hair lies heavily on the hair underneath, so the volume is lost.
A gentle stepped cut can be the answer. This immediately creates volume in your hair irrespective of the natural hair structure.
Over-treated roots
If you put conditioner etc on the hair roots, it’s no surprise if your hair is limp. Hair care products are often very rich and heavy on the hair. Tip: Put rich care only onto the lengths of the hair and leave it to work. Then rinse the hair thoroughly in warm water.
The wrong hair care products
If you want voluminous hair, you need to pay attention to the effect of your care products. If you have a fine hair structure should you really use a shampoo for damaged hair? When choosing your hair products make sure you don’t overburden your hair. If you’re not sure what care suits your hair structure, simply ask the hairdresser at your next visit.
Soft conditioned hair
Even if you have dreamily soft hair, when it’s super soft conditioned you need to make sure that it lies well. For voluminous hair it’s better to use products that give your hair more structure and grip. Hair with a slightly roughened surface has more hold. If hair is soft and velvety smooth it is slippery and hangs down limply.
The wrong blow-drying technique
If you blow-dry your hair without the nozzle and sitting upright, from the roots to the tips, you won’t get any volume in your hair. Give yourself plenty of time to dry your hair and ideally use a round brush.
Other things you need to think about: hair dried in the air becomes limp quicker than hair that has been well blow-dried. Don’t forget your heat protection to avoid damaging your hair with the intensive heat.
