The Pedicure – SPECIAL AGENTS!
June 4, 2024 Beauty News
- A 10-minute, lukewarm foot bath is a must if the pedicure is to look professional. Add a few drops of aromatic oil or nourishing bath milk to the water. The feet are cleaned from discolouration caused by walking barefoot, dark socks or shoes. A gentle foot peeling finishes the bath off and removes the upper layer of callused skin.
- Next comes the pumice stone, corneal file. It is important to work on a dry foot. Otherwise it can easily happen that too much skin is removed, and this not only hurts, as the callus protects against blisters, for example, it would also grow back more strongly.
- After all rough areas have been thoroughly removed, the feet must be moisturized and oiled. Especially the heels need intensive care. This is how: Warmly rub cream or oil in your hands and knead into the skin from the heel to the toes. Use your thumbs to trace small circles on the sole.
- The toenails are first shortened straight with nail clippers or scissors. Then it is best to shape them with a glass file.
Note: Always round off nails laterally so that they cannot become ingrown!
Carefully push back the still soft cuticle with a rosewood stick. If no polish is applied afterwards, the nails can be rubbed with special nail oil. It strengthens and nurtures. - As a final step, polish is finally applied to the nails. With a base and top coat the nail polish lasts even longer. If you apply the colour in two layers, the colour becomes even and radiant.
